Position Description: Hyperion Essbase BI Consultant ENVIRONMENT Our Client has full-time, permanent positions open for Business Intelligence Consultants. This client offers an excellent team and work environment, salary, full benefits and a tremendous bonus incentive. Travel is required. TECHNOLOGY FOCUS: Key technologies include Hyperion business intelligence products (Essbase, Hyperion Planning, Essbase Integration Services, Hyperion Financial Management, Analyzer, Reports, Business Intelligence, Brio etc.) The existing consulting staff possesses both data warehousing and business intelligence skills. Due to the size of the group, individual consultants need to be multi-skilled in data analysis, BI, DW, and ETL disciplines. Additionally, Microsoft is a strategic growth area for the company. Microsoft SQL Server-based Business Intelligence (SQL Server, DTS/SSIS, T-SQL, Analysis Services, front-end tools such as ProClarity, etc.) are skills we also look for on a regular basis. CONSULTANT RESPONSIBILITIES: Consultant provides a broad range of technical and solution expertise to corporate clients. Client projects usually consist of one or more consultants working directly with client staff. Consultants will normally be the most experienced technical resource on the project, and will have a “developer’s” methodology, rather than a project management or account management perspective. However, consultants will often be responsible for project planning and oversight, as well as regular feedback and status reports. A consultant is expected to be effective at assisting management to define solution concepts, capturing solution requirements in written form, translating that solution requirements into technical requirements and design, and developing, testing, and implementing the solution in close conjunction with client business and technical personnel. Projects often include the design and implementation of data warehouse/mart, ETL, and related BI application components. Use an internal development methodology to deliver projects with consistency. Client projects are often on-site and on-site workdays vary from client to client. Candidates expectations should be for 75% travel (3 nights out of area per week), although there are opportunities for Charlotte-based projects as well, and they encourage remote access with clients when possible, to help with the work/life balance of their employees.
